It's My Birthday Month!
February is my birthday month, people!
…and it’s also the month of love.
And because of that, I’ve been celebrating ME, so work was pushed to the side...like this blog.
But for most Americans, February stands for SUPER BOWL time!!
This year, Tom Brady made it to the Super Bowl AGAIN! AND HE WON!!! How does he do it?!?
Wellllll….I sometimes think he made a pact with the devil a la Dorian Gray, but Señor Brady equates a lot of his success to alternative medicine.
THAT’S RIGHT, PEOPLE!!
Tom Brady has been seeing a Chinese Medicine doctor for a looooooooong time, who not only helps with his health and nutrition, but also as his trainer (makes me wonder if Qi Gong is another reason he’s so agile….but that’s for a FUTURE BLOG).
Why are so many athletes turning to alternative medicine? Apart from the fact that it works?? Teeheehee.
Let me tell you!
Chinese Medicine has been proven to reduce pain. This is why most insurances are now covering acupuncture. I don’t feel the need to show linked research because if Western Medicine has embraced it, they’ve done the research.😉
The other aspects that acupuncture can help with are:
Boost the Immune System
Stimulate Circulation
Heal Injuries Quicker
Promote Muscle Recovery
Help with Endurance
My #1 reason for acupuncture is to boost one’s immune system. We’re living in a fucked up world right now, and we are ALL stressed to the max. If you thought you were stress before, man…2020 came in and kicked that stress level up to heights we’ve never seen before. Even if you’ve been living in a bubble, 2020 affected you. Sorry.
Having a strong immune system means you have a strong body and the ability to workout more.
But how does acupuncture help boost your immune system? It tells your body to produce more white blood cells, which are your body’s defense mechanism agains germs.
It also stimulates the circulation of, well, everything: blood and Q/life energy. It moves the old out and helps make the new.
Acupuncture also helps injuries heal quicker. How? By stimulating nerves and having your body release natural chemicals to relieve inflammation AKA pain. Some of these chemicals include endorphins and serotonin.
As you can see, with the release of these natural chemicals, your body’s muscles can recover quicker. Another natural chemical that acupuncture can stimulate is cortisol, another anti-inflammatory, which can help with over-worked muscles.
Lastly, acupuncture can help with endurance. I kinda find that all the reasons bleed into one another, but I’m must pointing them out for emphasis.
By having your body working optimally, of course you’ll have better endurance.
Reading through all these amazing benefits of acupuncture can help you understand why so many athletes are turning to these treatments. And you should, too! Why? Because in our society, people are now working out like they’re athletes, but they aren’t taking the same care of their bodies like athletes.
I believe, apart from Tom Brady’s pact with the devil, that he gets acupuncture regularly, massages on the daily, takes proper supplementation to avoid inflammation in his body, AND eats an anti-inflammatory diet.
I don’t know how he does it, but he doesn’t drink coffee. BLASPHEMY!!!
He doesn’t even eat dairy, white flour, white sugar, nightshade vegetables like eggplant or bell pepper.
I say, just start with acupuncture regularly.
BABY STEPS, people!
